Editing session 9

7/1/16

Today my group and I went back after school and continued editing.

Here with these 2 shots we colour matched them so they all linked together as part of the disruption and recognition of disruption in our narrative.

Here I detached the sound from a number of shots as it was unnecessary ambient sound which wouldn't have been heard over the soundtrack we are planning on including. We kept the sound in the equilibrium scene as there is a lot of dialogue, and also in shots with diegetic sound to make the audience jump like the one where an antagonist is banging on the window.

I added in a fade to black transition as when I did my research on editing and transitions, I found out that fade transitions are popular with horror films as they suggest mystery. It also allows the shot to flow into the next shot smoothly, and after watching exiting products such as 'The Purge' trailer and 'The Strangers', they have fade transitions in between shots during the equilibrium to show calmness and this is what my group and I wanted to achieve.
